Barbie Fashionistas line is becoming more and more inclusive by featuring more diverse dolls with each release. Today I would like to show you the most talked about dolls from the most recent wave of Fashionistas: # 132 (Barbie on a wheelchair) and # 121 (Barbie with a prosthetic leg). These fabulous dolls have at least two things in common – they are both beautiful and they both have physical disabilities.
Barbie on a wheelchair
Barbie Fashionistas # 132, aka the Wheelchair Barbie, has become a instant Internet sensation (especially the African-American version of this doll # 133 which unfortunately I haven’t found in stores in Switzerland yet). The doll has a Made to Move body and comes not only with a wheelchair but also with a ramp that is compatible with a Barbie Dreamhouse. The wheelchair itself looks very realistic thanks to Mattel’s cooperation with UCLA Children’s Hospital and wheelchair experts in designing it. Barbie with a prosthetic leg
Barbie Fashionistas # 121 is a gorgeous brunette with a prosthetic leg. She has a beautiful face sculpt, and her hairstyle and makeup work very well with it (she looks so good with the bright red lipstick, doesn’t she?). She is wearing cool silver hoop earrings and a cute blue dress. Her prosthetic leg looks great and is detachable, just like the real prosthetic leg would be (click here to see how the leg is being detached and attached in my YT video). It’s worth mentioning that Mattel worked with Jordan Reeves, a 13-year-old US disability activist who was born without a left forearm, to create this doll.
Final thoughts
Barbie Fashionistas # 132 on a wheelchair and Barbie Fashionistas # 121 with a prosthetic leg are wonderful dolls. I fell in love with # 121 the moment I saw her in a store and she has instantly became one of my favorite Fashionistas released to date. The wheelchair Barbie is amazing too and I would like to get the second one, # 133, soon as well (she looks so cute in the pictures that I saw on Amazon and I cannot stop thinking about her!). Mattel is really making history with these dolls and I believe that these particular ones are a must-have for a doll collector. Now, what do YOU think of these dolls? Dzisiaj chciałabym Ci pokazać najciekawsze i najbardziej popularne lalki, które ostatnio zostały wydane w ramach tej linii: Barbie # 132 na wózku inwalidzkim oraz Barbie # 121 z protezą nogi. Te dwie wspaniałe lalki mają co najmniej dwie wspólne cechy: obie są przepiękne, a także niepełnosprawne fizycznie.
Barbie na wózku inwalidzkim
Barbie Fashionistas # 132, zwana powszechnie “Barbie na wózku”, niedawno stała się internetową sensacją (a w szczególności wersja czarnoskóra # 133, której niestety jeszcze nie znalazłam w sklepach w Szwajcarii). Lalka posiada niesamowicie ruchome ciało typu Made to Move, wózek oraz rampę, która pasuje do domku dla lalek Barbie Dreamhouse. Wózek wygląda bardzo realistycznie dzięki temu, że Mattel prowadził konsultacje ze szpitalem dziecięcym UCLA oraz ekspertami ds. wózków inwalidzkich podczas prac nad wózkiem dla Barbie. Barbie z protezą nogi
Barbie Fashionistas # 121 to przepiękna brunetka z protezą nogi. Lalka ma śliczną twarz, do której idealnie pasuje wybrana fryzura i makijaż (bardzo mi się podoba jej czerwona szminka!). #121 nosi srebrne kolczyki, uroczą niebieską sukienkę oraz białe tenisówki. Proteza nogi jest odczepiana, tak jak w przypadku prawdziwej protezy (kliknij TU, żeby zobaczyć dokładnie jak to działa). Warto wspomnieć, że Mattel stworzył tę lalkę we współpracy z Jordan Reeves, 13-letnią aktywistką, która urodziła się bez lewego przedramienia.
Przemyślenia
Zarówno Barbie Fashionistas # 132 na wózku inwalidzkim jak i Barbie Fashionistas # 121 z protezą nogi to wspaniałe lalki. # 121 spodobała mi się od pierwszego wejrzenia i od razu znalazła się w gronie moich ulubionych Fashionistas. Barbie na wózku inwalidzkim też jest świetna i dlatego już planuję zakup drugiej z nich, # 133 (widziałam jej zdjęcia na Amazonie i wyglądała tak ślicznie, że nie mogę przestać o niej myśleć!). Mattel zmienia oblicze świata lalek na naszych oczach i dlatego uważam, że te lalki powinny się znaleźć na półce każdego kolekcjonera lalek. A jak Tobie się one podobają?
