When I was little, there was no Halloween. People in Poland knew very little about it and it was not commonly celebrated. Instead of Halloween, me and my family were focused on All Saints’ Day which is a Christian festival celebrated in honor of all the saints on 1 November. It is an important day in Poland on which it is a common practice to pray for the deceased relatives and go to the cemetery to place flowers and lit candles to honor their memory. Nowadays, as the globalization (aka the Americanization) progresses, Halloween becomes more and more popular in Poland. It seems like children are enjoying this holiday, yet sometimes this celebration can create tensions among adults. This is due to the fact that a lot of Polish are Christians who are not supposed to celebrate Halloween as it is a pagan feast that is contradictory to the faith in Christ. Personally I have nothing against people who want to celebrate Halloween but I think that since in Poland there is such a great tradition of All Saints’ Day, that should be the main holiday. I think that it important to remember the deceased relatives and visit their graves to pay our respect. What’s more the view of graves decorated in flowers and illuminated by candles is just breathtaking so if you ever have a chance to be in Poland on 1 or 2 November, make sure to go the cemetery in the evening.
When it comes to dolls and Halloween, Casta Fierce is a perfect doll for this occasion. She is a witch and she is dressed in an appropriate costume for the night. She is also a lead singer in a band called The Spells and that’s why she comes with a microphone and the broom that can be used as a microphone stand. She has a bigger body then most of the Monster High dolls as she is supposed to be older than the other characters (she is the same size as Nefera de Nile). She is wearing an orange and purple sparkling gown and purple boots, and she has a lot of accessories: bracelets, earrings, fishnet arm warmer, shoulder pads. I am very fond of this doll and recently I even bought another Casta to customize. Kiedy byłam młodsza, nie było Halloween. W Polsce nie było wiadomo zbyt wiele na temat tego zwyczaju i stąd Halloween nie było powszechnie obchodzone. Zamiast Halloween razem z rodziną byliśmy skupieni na przygotowaniach do Dnia Wszystkich Świętych (i Dnia Zadusznego), które przypada na dzień 1 listopada. Jest to dla mnie ważne święto religijne, podczas którego zazwyczaj odmawiam modlitwy za zmarłych krewnych oraz odwiedzam cmentarze, aby ozdobić groby bliskich kwiatami i zapalić znicze. Ostatnio zauważyłam, że w efekcie postępującej globalizacji (innymi słowy amerykanizacji), Halloween staje się coraz bardziej popularne w Polsce. Wprawdzie wydaje mi się, że dzieciom się to podoba, to nie ulega wątpliwości, że ten zwyczaj może powodować spory pomiędzy dorosłymi w kwestii publicznego praktykowania Halloween. Wynika to zapewne z faktu, że duża ilość Polaków to chrześcijanie, którzy nie powinni obchodzić Halloween, ponieważ jest to pogańskie święto, które jest niezgodne z wiarą w Chrystusa. Osobiście nie mam nic przeciwko tym, którzy chcą praktykować zwyczaje Halloween, ale moim zdaniem skoro w Polsce tradycyjny Dzień Wszystkich Świętych jest tak wspaniały, to właśnie on powinien być głównym świętem. Uważam, że warto szanować bliskich zmarłych oraz poświęcać czas na ich wspominanie, i tym samym sądzę, że jest to zwyczaj warty praktykowania. Co więcej, groby ozdobione kwiatami i oświetlone świecami w dniach 1 i 2 listopada wyglądają niesamowicie i polecam każdemu wybrać się po zmroku na najbliższy cmentarz by móc podziwiać ten widok.
Jeśli chodzi o połączenie lalek i Halloween, Casta Fierce jest idealną lalką na tę okazję. Jako czarownica, Casta ma na sobie doskonały strój na Halloweenową imprezę. Casta jest też piosenkarką i główną wokalistką w zespole The Spells i dlatego posiada mikrofon oraz miotłę, którą można wykorzystać jako stojak na mikrofon. Casta ma większe ciało niż większość lalek Monster High ponieważ jest starsza od pozostałych postaci (jest tej samej wielkości co Nefera de Nile). Lalka ubrana jest w pomarańczowo-fioletową błyszczącą sukienkę oraz fioletowe buty, i ma dużo akcesoriów: bransoletki, kolczyki, rękawiczka z siateczki oraz naramienniki. Casta Fierce tak bardzo mi się spodobała, że ostatnio kupiłam jeszcze jedną lalkę tej postaci, którą zamierzam przerobić. Niedługo opublikuję na moim Instagramie zdjęcia z Halloweenowej sesji fotograficznej Casty, więc nie zapomnij mnie tam obserwować, żeby Cię to nie ominęło! : )
