Review # 38 Ever After High Dragon Games Darling Charming Doll

The Ever After High Dragon Games movie premieres on January 29, 2016 on Netflix and I cannot wait to see it. I am more and more excited every day, especially after unboxing some of the dolls from the Dragon Games line. The EAH DG dolls are absolutely amazing and I am so happy that I have 4 of them already (Apple White and Braebyrn, Mira Shards, Darling Charming and Raven Queen). I will probably get Holly O’Hair one day too.

Darling Charming looks fierce in her Dragon Games outfit. I really like the EAH theme Princesses are Powerful because I truly support girls who are brave enough to face their problems on their own and who are not waiting for a boy to do everything for them. Darling is definitely not a damsel in distress but a hero who loves adventures. She is both beautiful and strong and I love that about her.

Darling has platinium blonde hair with blue streaks on the inside and she is wearing pink and blue makeup. Her face seems to be slimmer than the other EAH dolls’ faces and it gives her a bit older and more sophisticated look. Darling’s outfit is very detailed and well made. Her armor fits her perfectly and it makes her look like a knight. I really wish she came with a sword because I think that it would have been a perfect addition to her outfit.

The one thing I do not like about this doll line is the packaging. It was more difficult to take Darling out of the box than for example a doll from Spring Unsprung or Way Too Wonderland doll lines. There are two problems with this new type of packaging. Firstly, you have to either cut or tear the plastic cover in the front because you cannot just detach it. Secondly, the part to which the doll is attached is glued to the back part of the box. In general, in order to get the doll out of the box you need to pretty much destroy the packaging. In my case it took me a long time to get Darling out without damaging the artworks on the back of the box.

Inside the box…

…and out of the box!

    Hi Margaret Ann,
I also got this Darling doll and agree that she is just beautiful! She is my first DG doll (my daughter has Raven, though) and I can't wait to finish collecting them all in this line. I am really excited for the movie as well! 🙂

Hi Farrah! Have you seen the movie yet? It is absolutely amazing! Dragon Games dolls are beautiful and well-made and I think that Mattel did a very good job designing them. I can't wait to see your pictures and read your reviews of the DG dolls 🙂
