Becoming a Doll Collector

I’ve always liked dolls.

I remember when I was a child, I loved playing with Barbie dolls. My favorite one was articulated Esmeralda from Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame movie and a Baywatch Barbie with a dolphin. Even though it was so long ago, I still smile while thinking of them 🙂

When I got older, I thought my time with dolls ended. I thought it was inappropriate for a young adult to buy dolls, watch animated movies, anime and read manga. I’ve never really thought about it – it was just “normal” for me that I should stop it and concentrate on studying and working.

After few years I realized that I couldn’t stay away from manga & anime any longer and I started watching and reading again. The world has not ended 😉 Then the YouTube became more popular and the phenomenon of Monster High and Ever After High began.

I showed my Mom MH and EAH and now we’re both hooked. We watch together every new movie and I absolutely love it. My Mom never stopped being a child inside and I would like to be like her when I will be older!

Of course, I loved MH dolls from the very first time I saw them but I thought it was impossible for me to start buying them. I had many reasons why I shouldn’t do it: lack of space, inappropriateness, throwing money down the drain etc. But then my amazing husband told me: “I you like them, then why not?” and he encouraged me to start buying dolls. In fact, my first MH doll was a birthday gift from my husband – it was a beautiful Venus McFlytrap Between Classes doll.

Now my collection of dolls is growing and I am really happy about it!
I am 25 years old I am proud to say that I am a doll collector 🙂

Hello Margaret Ann! It's very great to know that I'm not alone in the doll collection world. I believe that we can have a child in our heart forever. Also, my mom is like yours, she loves animations and never let her inner child die 😀
